The programming for this year has been set! Check out the Program page of the site for full details: http://mplsindiexpo.com/program/

We’ve got two live artist demonstrations by Gordon McAlpin and Sarah Glidden, sponsored by the Nordeast Comics Summit, in which those artists will walk us through two very different comics-making processes — completely digital comics and watercolor comics.

Paper Darts’ Managing Editor Courtney Algeo will moderate “The Heroic Journey: Where Comics and Literature Decussate” — a panel to discuss where and when comics become literature, how both mediums split genres, tell stories and capture truth.

Charles Brownstein, Executive Director of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, will talk about “Censorship Then & Now.”

Comics luminaries Julia Wertz, John Porcellino, Zak Sally and Nic Breutzman will discuss some early blunders in the panel “How Not to Succeed: Stories from When Things Went Wrong,” moderated by 2d Cloud’s Editor Raighne Hogan.

Fes Works from the Webcomics Beacon podcast will have two talks at the show on the topics of webcomics and podcasting.

MCAD brings to us four fine workshops on how to personalize your comics-making process, how to perfect-bind books DIY-style, how to color comics “the old fashioned way” and how to self-publish using print-on-demand services.

Rob Stenzinger has a really fun Sunday morning workshop for kids and teens on how to turn jokes into comics.

Works Progress will loan us the local arts hero Andy Sturdevant and his amazing live arts talk show. I understand that Salon Saloon: The Comics Show, happening Saturday, will cheerfully end with a sing-along.

And soooo much more.  Check out the schedule of events for both days and plan your time accordingly!  Space for these programs will be limited.
